Chapter 01
Staircases and rails, built to hold weight and look right doing it
A curved staircase is the hardest thing in a house to get wrong. The stringers have to carry weight along a curve instead of a straight run, the risers have to land even step to step, and the rail has to follow that curve without a flat spot or a dip anywhere along it. Bosco's crew has run that sequence in homes around Jackson and the surrounding counties: set the curved stringers first, fit the treads to them one tread at a time, then bring in the iron balusters and set every one of them plumb before the oak rail goes on top and ties the run together.
Iron balusters do a lot of the visual work on a stair like that. Spaced and set right, they carry the eye up the curve instead of breaking it into segments, and each one has to be plumb on its own even though the stringer under it is curved. That gets checked baluster by baluster, not eyeballed once from the bottom of the stairs.
Straight staircases and open foyer runs get the same attention even though the geometry is simpler. An open stair with a balcony rail above it is on display from more angles than almost anything else in the house, so the rail has to read clean from the front door looking up and from the second-floor landing looking down. It's finish carpentry, done after the framing is already standing, not part of it. The rail height and the baluster spacing both have to stay consistent the full length of the run, landing to landing, or the eye catches the break from ten feet away.

Built-ins: bookshelves, closets and fireplace mantels
A built-in only looks built-in if it's scribed to the actual wall it's going into instead of just set against it. Bosco fits bookshelves, cabinet walls and walk-in closet shelving flush to the room, with the trim carried through so the piece reads like it was part of the house from the start. That means measuring the real wall, not a drawing of it, because a wall that looks straight rarely is, and a shelf unit built to a set of numbers instead of the actual room ends up with a gap somewhere that a straightedge would have caught.
Fireplace surrounds and mantels get the same treatment, tied into crown molding where the room calls for it. A mantel has to carry its own proportions correctly around the firebox opening and hold up as the focal point of the room, whether it's painted white or a deeper color like the green-grey surrounds Bosco has built for other Jackson-area customers.
Chapter 03
Finish trim, renovation work and paint touch-ups
Most of this work comes in on the back end of a renovation: crown molding, baseboards, door and window trim once the walls are finished, then paint touch-ups where new trim meets old paint. It's detail work, not a second demo and rebuild, and it's the difference between a room that looks renovated and one that just looks unfinished once the bigger trades have moved on.
